Review by: MargaretGreat for Spaghetti SauceTo "punch up" jarred spaghetti sauce, I add dried kale or spinach, dried mushrooms, dried onion, dried garlic, herbs to taste, and maybe some frozen meatballs. This doubles the volume of the sauce, and it's all vegetables. Terrific!

Review by: David~ Very Healthy, Good Value ~Have tried 3 other vendors for similar products and was disappointed and in one case even deceived. Not so with this quality dried kale product. Am able to see why Whole Foods accept some of their stock from this online business. A 10 pound box was purchased here over a year ago and I'm still using it nearly every day. It's still great! It may *seem* a little spendy, but after you figure that 1 lb reconstitutes into an equivalent of 15 lbs of fresh kale then it's no wonder it lasts so long. Will be ordering more of this product in the future, happy to have come across this fine vendor of quality foods. Have tried 5 of their offerings now and every one of them is excellent.

Easy to Prepare
- Add dry kale flakes while slow cooking soups, stews, chilies, and other foods with sufficient liquid content.
- For most other applications, hydrate using 1 part dry kale flakes and about 4 parts water.
- Bring to a boil.
- Then simmer 10-15 minutes.
- Add additional water if needed.
Yield — 1 oz equals about 3/4 cup dry. Generally, air dried vegetables double in volume when hydrated.
Rehydration Ratio — 1 lb of air dried kale flakes, once rehydrated, equals approximately 7 lbs of fresh prepared product.
Storage — Best if used within 18 months. Store tightly sealed in a dry location away from sunlight.
