Review by: LSE LadyMixin' it up!First time purchase as I was looking for something a little sweeter than the tomato flakes, another excellent NBT product. I mixed the tomato flakes and the FD tomatoes together and rehydrated as a light pasta sauce. The color variation was quite natural, and the FD tomatoes seemed to take the "edge" off the rehydrated tomato flakes. Wonderful!

Review by: New to dried foodGreat when mixed with other itemsTried the tomatoes by themselves and wasn't overjoyed. Added super sweet corn, mushrooms and the tomatoes. As I type this, I'm eating this mixture. It's great and the bowl (good thing it's small) is almost gone! Plan on mixing other veggies this way. What a great snack!

Review by: JoyTangy and delicious right out of the bag!I actually haven't cooked with these, yet! I've been eating them right out of the bag with freeze dried okra. Wow, delicious. Very acidic all alone, so I have to have the okra with it to cut the acid, but I bet they would be fabulous in a soup or to pep up a salad sprinkled on top. They are expensive, but I personally find them worth it. I don't have to worry about them "going bad" before I eat them like "fresh" ones and they are very flavorful. Oh, I bet they would be great added to a hamburger. I am reordering this as I type....

Easy to Prepare
- Use alone as a snack or as an addition to veggie trail mixes.
- Add dry for a crunchy effect in salads, and, while serving, cooked rice, cooked pasta, and soups.
- Add dry during the last 5-10 minutes of cooking soups and stews that have sufficient amounts of broth.
- For most other applications, hydrate by soaking for 5-10 minutes in a generous amount of cold or hot water (hot water works slightly better). Then drain.
Yield — 1 oz of these freeze dried tomatoes equals about 1 cup dry with very low moisture content.
Storage — Best if used within 24 months of purchase. Store tightly sealed while minimizing exposure to heat and humidity.
